Front wheel drive series after removing rear prop and selecting 4wd is it ok to to temporarily.

Hi the rear UJ shattered, can I just put it in 4wd and remove the rear prop and drive around in FWD for a few days until my new prop arrives? Will it break owt? Cheers Myles
 
Remember you're going through the Transfer box and that's not supposed to be permanent.
its the front ujs in swivel housing thats the concern as they arent as good as cvs for permanent drive in a steering axle other than than front wheed drive is as good as rear
 
I once had auto engage hubs on a series 2a,horrible things in icy conditions going in and out all the time.
With a rear half shaft gone driving in front wheel drive was like driving one of those 2 stroke Saab's,when you took your foot off the power it would just free wheel faster!:eek:
