Currently searching for my first ever Land Rover and initially had been looking at Disco 2 diesel at about 3K.

Talking to a new neighbour at the weekend he is selling his 1998 P38 4.6 with LPG and 212,000 on the clock for less than 2K. Lots of work done, suspension etc and looks tidy..no sign of rust. Looking on here seems

P38's certainly have their issues ...as do the discos; but am I mad buying a 212,000 mile P38? Guessing running costs would be similar but certainly prefer the sound of a V8!

P38 on LPG, the green bandits are going to make diesel prohibitively expensive soon and LPG will be the way to go and still be able to drive into cities.
Sorry but I don’t agree about diesel. It is the most wide use used fuel and isn’t simply going to vanish over night or be priced off the road when there is nothing to directly take its place.

The same has been said for decades about petrol and how V8’s will be out lawed. Yet they remain on the option lists of many modern cars.
