What would be your preference?

Detroit/Eaton TrueTrac, Quaiffe ATB or Ashcroft ATB

All work roughly the same way but I would like to know if there are any long term users who can shed some light on performance over time.

Or what would you fit?

Only interested in automatic type not air or electric operated lockers at the moment.

Ashcroft are the best value and are what I’d go for. Know a few people running them with no issues.

Ashcroft is local to me too. My Uncle knew Ian Ashcroft and I’ve spoken to David a number of times and had a tour of their works previously and I have no reservations about recommending them.

My Ashcroft limited slips are still going strong after around three and a half years. Over the past winter I have really appreciated them in the snow in Wales. They allow me to fly up snow covered slopes, past the point at which everybody else's tyre marks have petered out. As well as the diffs in my axles, a couple of years ago I fitted their centre diff too. Since then I've not engaged diff lock at all. Well, I do occasionally to see if it's still working, but I don't usually need it for driving.

+1 on the Ashcroft from me too. Basically the Ash is a Quaife copy, but near enough as good. Unless you need it in a race truck or similar the Ash will serve you well. Had mine in since late last year and its been fantastic. Off road it really is brilliant, I find myself climbing hills and driving through bog I would have otherwise been stuck in.

On road totally transparent.

Though mine is an Xcess 4x4 "ultra build" - Have a read here about diffs https://www.megasquirt-v8.co.uk/diff_a_z.php

Though the Xcess Ultrabuild was pricey worth every penny imo, I absolutely love it.

Nope! Britpart  shafts and flanges in the rear, still going strong with minimal wear. It is driven hard often too

I'm considering a front pegged LSD too but its another £900 for the build I want! Plus id like to drive a landy with a front LSD as apparently they tend to aggressively self center but you get used to it so not sure. That or maybe a pegged 4pin but comes in at around the same price

The Ashcroft ATB in the front should be pretty transparent on road. Of the people running them one only has it in the front. Another started with one in the front then went for one in the back too.
