The inertia fuel cut-off is already installed from the factory, but if you wish to install one it just cuts the 12v supply to the petrol pump relay, diesel D1s don't have one because they don't have an electric fuel pump.
Ah fair enough. I may wire into the ignition. I just want an extra little bit to make it harder incase it did happen....maybe wire it down close to the bulk head
what purpose would this serve?
i would be tempted to suggest you wire it into the inertia switch wiring, if its just a safety device for offroading in the event of an accident
if it's not then something to do with the fuel pump wiring might be acceptable

It's just to give another hurdle to someone if it was ever to be stolen

Fuel supply cut off valves are available either manual or servo controlled, both items will require the fuel pipe to be cut and extended into the vehicle.
After modifying the fuel pipe all you have to do is turn the valve on/off manually or do it electrically with the application of 12volts, first thing to do is size the valve and glands to match the diameter of your fuel pipe.
Or as suggested disabling the starter, which is simple just remove the supply to the starter relay much the same as some immobilisers.

I can't discuss openly what I've done but suffice to say that you'd be hard pressed to steal my Discovery without use of a hiab or towing it away.
If you wanted it impossible to start, for longer term parking, a simple valve on a tee on any of the fule lines, pre the lift pump, would mean it wasn't going anywhere of its own accord.
Introducing air into the line will cause someone more bother and confusion than just cutting the supply. The engine will stall a short time after starting and they would probably not get to the bottom of why that quickly.
It depends what you want though. They would have time to drive it on a loader, but then if they've got a loader, you're pretty much stuffed anyhow.

Do discoverys even get stolen?
I never used to lock mine, left the key im the ignition a fair few times too
Depends where you live, when i was at my parents I could leave it unlocked key in the ignition for weeks before realising! But I just know theres some people interested in my disco and well....I know what one of them is like

I never used to lock mine, left the key im the ignition a fair few times too
D1s when they were newish did, now I haven't seen any D1s in months, other than mine that's is.
D2 are also getting rare in my part of the world, it's all D3 and D4s and the sport and various Range Rovers they are very common, and only seen the old D5... well that's what I think it is.
