Does any one know if there is any indication of when the becm losses its synq with the engine, some think that the injector light wont light if this has happened any one any idea

Bit pi--ed but all I can remember is that everything seems to be in place, they crank but wont start. But then its easy for me as I have Testbook.

Hi Guys, very interesting, mine (same model) has the same fault, turns over fine but high pressure pump won't push any any fuel out (see my thread). I have had test book in the car today and it seems the immobiliser part of the engine ecu is locked down. The car is booked into an 'indie' on Thursday who has testbook (not like the posh 'un who has their own in the last reply!). I can give you a bit of a start though. Check the connectors in the kickwells, if you have had water in there the connectors can go green and furry, I have had to cut these out and solder the wires back together. Check for dampness in the carpets on both sides as a starting point. I will let you know the progress of mine, maybe it will help. Cheers, Ian.

mine lost sync few weeks back - turns over quick but no fuel

local indy Landrover guy came out hooked it up , reset it, it started straight up

£50

job done - for now

£50 ! I need to put my rates up,it takes longer to connect and boot up Testbook than it does to do the re-synch.

where are you based COZ because i dont seem to be able to find anyone local which i would really like, because otherwise i have to getit ecovered and i know how long the job takes is there anyone near me, with faultmate, or rovacom lite.??

im in nottingham

i know it doesnt take long to hook it up and do it - but the independant LR guy still had to down tools - drive out to my stricken RR and sort it out - so i didnt think it was too bad - and im not made of money

not expensive at all i would give 4 times that to het someone to mine but there is no one in my area you are very lucky

Hi guys, seem there is a lack of testbooks out there. I smell a franchise opportunity. In the meantime, check out the local auto electricial companies in your phone book, and if that fails, check out the local garages. Someone will know someone who has one. I literally tripped over my local guy, my rangie is booked in with the local garage tomorrow for collection and transport to one of Mansfields local autoelectricians, in conversation with the transport garage, I found out that a guy within 2 miles of here that had testbook, and could come straight round, he even diagnosed an immobiliser probem. Although he could not correct it, at least I know in which direction to send the Autoelectricians. Will keep you posted. Cheers, Ian

Hi Stepen, just to let you know I have just picked up my RR from the 'indies'. They have re-synchronised the engine ecu to the BeCM and she is running fine. Cost me £137.00 including bleeding the system, antifreeze and VAT. Don't lose hope, help is out there - it's just a case of 'tripping over it'. Good Luck, Ian.
