Hi, again sorry for occupying the German thread.

Living in Innsbruck and have brought over my series 2a. Took her for the import test at TUV and they basically laughed and threw me out. Reason was that there was no chassis number on the chassis as this part has obviously been replaced st some time in the last 50 years. Also Tuv Said they had no data to test her.
Any ideas...would think about a chassis swap if it helped but no sure if it would

Had very similar problems/reactions just north of the border (Garmisch)...spent a lot of time trying to fulfil TUV requirements....then I began to "shop around" the TUV stations - & found one 5 minutes from my place here with a real 4WD enthusiast who gently & patiently "coached" me to get my 110FFR (31yrs old...with wrap round bullbars & a 2.5NA that smoked like a coal-fired power station) through the TUV. I tried to meet him halfway by copying 110FFR specs from handbooks, military sites etc etc. Cut the story real short - it's now registered as an LKW (lorry)...with side windows in rear.....8 seating capacity....& bullbars (which are only legal on LKWs). Of course it's a "fudge"..... - & I only pay 180Euro annual "road fund tax" (instead of ca. 2500E as a very dirty car (no cat etc), I get to keep the bullbars (useful round here with the narrow lanes & herds of cows coming your way), but can't tow anything on a Sunday (LKW limitation!)!!!!
So how did you work it out??? One Life...I'm getting Old.....Bonemarker

Yeah...that works for that part..... but you'll still (in Germany at least) have to fork out and create a "made to measure" set of car-identity-papers. In my case they (2 guys) literally measured every aspect of the 110 & defined that as "my 110"...cost ca. 400quid but there weren't any other options! This isn't so usual - I bought a Bateman Horse Transporter in the UK & registered/TUVed it here - but only after I'd driven it 100Km to an TUV centre that specialised in creating "horsebox made to measure" ident papers!!!!!
