Hi All,

Ball joint has gone so need to change arm. It is on a series 3 but lots of changes...when I bought many years ago I was told they fitted a defender unit but not so sure as cannot get a match on it!

Any help really appreciated :)

...and thanks in advance!

Thanks for that Hicap, I was just going to replace old drop arm - buy from paddock, but they didn't know what the box was and which arm to offer :)

Mine on my 110 is a later one that takes a track rod. Easier to replace than that ball joint. Unsure of the cost or part number.
Think all the bottom splines are the same.
Think it is off a later 300tdi disco
No steering damper on it

Hope you have some good tools to remove the drop arm, they can be very tight, why not just replace the ball joint? or am I missing something?

Cheers

Hi Neilly, just assumed it could have a fair bit of wear but yes would be easier as it is only the ball joint. Does the socket not tend to wear?

Not sure what yours is like, but mine had bearing cups in it for the ball joint to sit in, this all comes as part of a kit, but I do not know if yours is the same as mine, easy enough to pop out and check if you have the correct tools.

Maybe if you state your localish area someone may have one for you to use.

Cheers

Thanks again neilly, have just looked on youtube and looks pretty straightforward (final words lol)
Just spoke to Paddock and they can't supply without me saying if 3 4 or 6 bolt, I assume it is a 4 bolt?

Cheers
