Just replaced the seeedo cable on the 110 with one i bought at the motor factors as waned my speedo to work again sooner rather than later. They only stocked the two piece cable and said that most people do not carry the single cable anymore. Quick google shows the single one is still available online and that is what I replaced and fitted last time it needed doing. The two piece on to me seems to be one more thing to break and go wrong. Is there any advantage to it?
I will leave it fitted until it does fail and then hopefully replace with another single unit unless there is a compelling reason to keep the two piece version.

The two piece one has one short length about a foot long that goes from the speedo through the bulkhead. The second piece then has a plastic joiner, that seems fragile to me, and goes to the trasferbox. I had not come across it before as the previous two were both single cables. But it was all they had in stock and it does now work.

Can you disconnect the 2 pieces to get the clocks out easier?
I guess you possibly could in theory but with how tight the connector was it would be easier to just disconnect at the back of the speedo as you would with a single one.

I have always had the 2-piece on my 90.
Only ever had it go once but as it was the lower section it meant that replacement was a quick / simple job with no need to disturb the instrument cluster. I know that fitting a replacement is no big deal but it never happens at an ideal time (the nature of the beast) and it made replacement the work of a few minutes.
If I recall correctly, I later fitted the new top-section when I had the cluster out for another reason as that way I knew the whole cable was of a similar age.
