I'm running on 225/60/17 and there's loads more room. Next set will be Yokohama Geolander AT-S in 225/65/17.

Going to order some of these today hopefully.......as I really liked the Yokohama on my old Freelander. Going 225/65/17 with 25mm spacers. Stance will look better as well then. :)

I'm now changing to 18" rims, so I'm on the hunt for some tyres that suit those instead.

What paint did you use on the covers? And as much as I do not want to sound negative, the engine-compartment bodywork could do with a good seeing to. Sorry to say, mate.

I will add this... , that when I strip, dismantle, inspect or service a part, any part, I really do rip into the relevant system in order to keep it in as perfect a condition as possible. Whether it is to paint, lube or simply protect it in any way, I do it.
When I remove a bracket it gets stripped & painted. Any bolt that is removed is greased before refitted or replaced. It not only enables it to be removed easily but also protects the threads from corrosion. And I know others on Landy-Zone have written the same kind of practice. I'm only one of many to carry out such work, whether it be remedial or replacement. But the name-of-the-game is to keep our vehicle healthy.
As for replacement silicon hoses, I've ordered a set. I asked my wife what colour she liked... she chose Blue. I would've gone for Orange, but to maintain a dignified level of détente, I agreed. I would still have preferred orange though!
Blue looks cold. Green reminds me of moss & Public toilet walls. lol

Plastic primer, paint, and lacquer from halfords.
All those rusty looking brackets, are actually covered in underseal from a previous owner......but everything that can be painted, will be painted. All bolts are cleaned and greased before refitting. I've even cleaned up and treated the underside of my Freelander. All my vehicles are well cared for. And also restored a few cars. :)

I was going to go 18's but aftermarket, but its a nightmare finding correct width and offset. :)

I decided that I'd use Sport 18" rims. I actually found a set of 5 in almost unmarked condition up for sale near me. He was after £200 for the set but hadn't had much interest as it was just before Christmas. I offered him £150 to take them off him unseen. He accepted the offer and I became an owner of a nice set of rims, bar the strange assortment of tyres fitted. The spare still has its original and nearly new 235/50/18 Michelin Latitude Tour HP. The other 4 are shod with odd and bald budget tyres.
I've fitted the spare already (notice how unmarked it is) as it's size suits the 225/60/17 tyres currently on the ground.

Be careful Nodge68 - Even though - for instance - Mich Latitude tours and Mich synchrone seemed to measure similarly (centre to ground static) on my car when I had to replace a pothole casualty with my spare - in fact they behaved very differently according to my prop revcounters. I confirmed what was happening for myself by doing the following:-
I marked all four tyres with chalk to the vertical ground contact point - rolled her forward about 40 metres to simulate 20 wheel revs and checked - the Synchrone had noticably had to rotate further as it behaved like a smaller tire - this confirmed small differences I was getting on the revcounters - I swopped front to back and the effect followed suit.
So you have there a simple way of checking if in fact your wheel/tyre combinations are even or not.
Fortunately for me I was able to buy a couple of matching Tours from Teddywood and sold on my mint synchrone to another guy trying to make up a set. back in balance with happy prop revcounter readings.

Bargain, I really like the Sport alloys. But aftermarket alloys are better for advertising my work. :)
 
Bit more work on the engine bay. Still got to clean up and brackets etc.....but can't do that till it's warm and dry outside. :)

What does it sound like? Any difference from standard?? And HOW MUCH??
Hi, I put one on mine last May. Can’t say a huge difference in performance noticed, the tone is better but again don’t expect it to sound like a V8. The best thing is that it is so much slimmer that I have not had to make the guard I was contemplating making for the back box as it hang down so far. Now the silencer is tucked well up and being stainless looks great. Think it was about £200? But could be wrong.
One thing that I missed; if you’re replacing the back box it gives great access to the rear diff mounting bushes and so much easier to replace the rear 2 that I had to work round the exhaust to access when in place. And they are not expensive to buy but make a great difference if they need doing like mine did. Anyway, just a thought I had. The MuddyMods box is great and the proprietor is a gentleman to do business with in my experience

Hi Phil, cheers mate. I brought the arm rest second hand, it's a genuine Land Rover accessory. So quite hard to find now.

Thanks mate, I think I have seen dodgy Chinese ones somewhere suitably cheap but will undoubtedly reflect the cost by being pants
Will keep an eye out, they do look like an easy comfy adjustment.

Decided to redo the intake pipe in truck bed liner paint, as I didn't like it being the same colour as the covers.......also as the sun was out, decided to give her a wash and coat of wax. :D
