I would be worried as mentioned there have been reports of the turbo`s going through lack of oil as pump has worn, there was one guy on who posted on here that one turbo went the garage replaced they just fitted new one which went again on start up as pump was gone and I think the engine ended up damaged as well.

Hi ladies and gentlemen ,
Not sure if anyone is still looking, but thought I'd send an update. Basically told them no, I wouldn't pay the 1000, got put on to a finance director who told me 'the Director has said absolutely no way we're paying more than the 1800'. I told him I wanted my cash back. Job done.
He then called back about 30 mins later and asked if I'd make an offer, I said, rather jokingly, 300. He said yes!!!
So essentially, it appears that there is 3500 of work being done for the two turbos and it's costing me 300. Happy days.
I realise the advice of some was to walk away and I understand that, but the work being done and the general condition of it was the hook.
I thank you for your time and patience in explaining and the advice given. Much appreciated.
I've checked out the small print of their warranty (again) and with the work being done, it seems like I've got a good deal. Despite the sly efforts of the dealer, would anyone disagree? Bear in mind, first time buyer who is not that mechanically or RR savvy.
My only other question is - is there a way to modernise the satnav and display? I'm guessing it not for this forum though.

Glad to hear you have it sorted to a degree you're happy with. Ref SatNav, etc, a quick search will bring up a few threads on the subject. SaintV8's write up would be the one I would follow.

The 2008 satnav is pretty up to date for us ! Saints write up is to take the 2002 sat nav to the mk4 bmw sat nav i believe but you are way past that. The 2002 sat nav design that i have still comes with a Sextant and charts

@holidaychicken is quite correct. The later models used a Fibre Optic system for the infotainment data buses and upgrades are difficult.....

My bad, hadn't bothered to go back and check year and was working on the premise of , if it wasn't broken then it must be one of the older ones, to want to upgrade it.
