Defender brake return spring

Fitting an X-eng pedal lock and my brake pedal has two return springs so is too wide for the lock jaw.

Do I need both return springs?

It’s a 200tdi Defender 90

You could fit just one stronger spring.

Is that a thing, can you get ones of different strengths? Or a case of going to the spring shop and see what they got.

My X Eng pedal lock claw fits around both springs on the brake pedal.
Make sure that the claw is free to move to the end of its travel. (I had to leave the pinch bolt slightly loose)
The pedal lock has to be fitted as far over to the centre transmission tunnel as possible, so the claw lines up with the brake pedal.

Oh really, maybe I just need to fettle it a bit more.
