Hi .... Ive just recently changed my ignition, ecu, ews as my 2004 TD6 had an immobiliser issue. i purchased the kit from a reputable online seller, all kit came off a 2002 range, LR tech told me it was plug and play, it was fitted and car fired up first time.... The car now wont rev over 1000 revs and hunts, We have checked everything possible ie fuel delivery etc, No faults showing up on Diagnostic ( Not LR Testbook) car starts and idles sweet ???? Could it be a fault in new ecu

Few ECUs on the L322 are plug and play...

I would be double checking all connections there to and all wiring for signs of splits or chaffing.

The fact it starts is a major bonus, lack of revs could be fuel pressure, no air (check turbo hoses) or lack of compression.

do you know anybody with an ecu you could try? could be a faulty ecu!!
have you carried out any other work on the car?
had you changed anything else before changing the ecu?
questions questions.......o_O

Thanks for that,The mechanic doing the work is convinced its electrical and connected to the ECU swap, local LR man has said he will come out to the car with Textbook.....is it possible that the replacement ecu may need pairing to my vehicle ??

prior to the ecu kit ( immobiliser Fault) i had the HP pump renewed and the Pump in the tank as both were faulty and creating low fuel pressure

Can you get a reading of the fuel pump delivery?
Wammers will know this, maybe the pump top cap isn't set correctly??
The only reason I ask is I recently did my injector pump cap seals and had to adjust it after the cap wasn't quite in the right position... Talking within a millimeter of adjustment!!!

we are talking a td6 l322 here which is common rail electrical injectors, :D

Hang on....
Low pressure can come come from leaking injectors..
Don't forget, if the electronic part of the injectors are activating as they should the ECU will think all is good, there are no guarantees the mechanical side of the injector's which the ECU can't detect are doing there job!
On the Citroen hdi engines the ECU will limit and or cut the revs and even shut down the engine if the pressure in the injectors are not holding their own! On a limb here...

Where is the location on the pump ( presume HP ) of adjustment ?? Cheers

Sorry Mr bang', I was talking about the wrong type of bus!
You need to be reading the live data of the engine when you got the diagnostics on it.
The live data will tell you more than reading codes!
Throttle position,
Fuel rail pressure,
Manifold absolute pressure,
Egr valve movement,
Air flow,
Engine coolant temp,
Blah blah....
To name a few!

The TD6 has 3 fuel pumps!

The In Tank Pump
The High Pressure Pump on the back of the engine
And a Secondary In-line Pump mounted on the side of the fuel tank.

The Secondary Pump is a common failure on the L322 TD6 and can cause poor power delivery and running issues.

You say the in tank pump and HP pumps have been looked at/replaced - have you had the secondary pump checked?

Three? Why are there three?
Is there a heating system for the cabin?

Would the secondary pump effect the main fuel system then?
Unless it blocked of course? Is there a filter that could cause starvation?o_O;)
There is a fuel filter, and this could cause starvation and poor running.

The secondary pump is part of the main fuel system and is a well documented failure item which can lead to running and/or starting issues!

First is the Advance delivery pump inside the tank, it sets the fuel delivery ball rolling and also takes care of the fuel transfer duties necessary in a saddle type tank.

Secondly is the in-line pump, it is mounted on the exterior of the tank. It's function is to increase fuel delivery when demanded. It is 5 bar (variable)

Thirdly is the HP pump on the engine, up to 200 Bar (variable)

No idea on the problem, just thought I'd look it up.:D

Update on my plight...LR specialist came out to my vehicle and gave it a full health check..only one fault Cam sensor implausible ... He has deduced that when garage changed HP pump they didn't lock up cam correctly and Timing is out ???? My question is " How much of a nightmare is this to do " and are there any time saving tips ,if anyone can help.cheers
