The time has come for me to move the Defender on to a new home. Having done what I set out to do with it but having done less than 3k miles since buying in October 2015 and now needing the space at home, I can’t justify keeping it so hence being offered for sale.

1992 ‘K’ plated 90 200TDi commercial (currently on a private but this will be removed and does NOT form part of sale). On the button, and wanting for nothing. Has 167k miles on the clock, sailed through the MOT earlier this week with one advisory – small blow on the exhaust. That’s it. Chassis absolutely solid as is bulkhead, outriggers / battery box / rear crossmember etc, chassis has had some welding in the past before my tenure but done properly. Spec / work done as follows:

2’ lift & running 33 / 12.5 / 15 Kumho Road Venture tyres
Underbody protection including rocksliders, diff & bash guards
Chassis & underside fully and professionally Dinitrol’d inside & out – steam cleaned first to ensure good adhesion. Dinitrol still shiny & clean
New Front winch bumper (no winch)
New full Glyn Lewis breather kit less than 500 miles ago (banjo bolts still shiny) with roof level snorkel
New Revotec electric fan kit less than 500 miles ago with controller properly mounted in dash
New power steering pump & fully rebuilt 4 bolt Adwest steering box – steering tight as a drum
New Terrafirma RTC steering damper
New alloy rad & intercooler
Door / window / screen rubbers & roof seals all replaced – no water ingress when driving, you stay totally dry
New Dixon Bate adjustable towbar (never used)
New KBX front grilles with new light set (which all work)
New Rear step & ladder
New Interior carpet & seatbox set - heavy duty off road rubber set underneath if more to your taste
New Raptor metal instrument binnacle & bracket – no more broken lugs with the binnacle hanging off
New Momo Quark steering wheel – makes driving a lot easier not having to turn a dustbin size steering wheel in a confined space
Gearbox rebuilt – new clutch fitted
Rear loadliner & farm jack mounted in rear
Security – plenty….will only be divulged to a new owner once I have the sale price in my hand for obvious reasons
Parrot Bluetooth properly fitted

The list goes on, and there will undoubtedly be stuff I’ve forgotten about in addition to the above. Has not offroaded since I have owned which is a waste, and now needs to be used as intended. As above, this is NOT a project – this is a sorted Defender that is ready to go. I have plenty of photo’s and am happy to email across - for some reason I can only manage to upload one here which is annoying but if there’s anything else you want to know – ask. Bear in mind that all the work done here has been in the last 2k miles max including the clutch, so nothing is on the way out or past it's prime. Usual transfer box leak being honest but is isn’t gushing out by any means and you won’t be buying EP89/90 in bulk to keep it topped up every week. Bodywork is absolutely solid, few dings on drivers door but is far from battered or needing work – paintjob done before I bought it and isn’t great up close in a couple of places (can count them on one hand and still have fingers left) being honest but is still very respectable - and all matches. Everyone who has driven it says what a nice one it is to be behind the wheel of, including several local Land Rover specialists.

Price - £8.5k, and located Gatwick area (only place relatively local most people have heard of). To buy something this solid at this spec with nothing needing doing after looking about would cost in excess of this, so I think it’s a fair price. No snide comments needed if you think that’s OTT, those opinions are yours and should be kept to yourself. I’m not skint and aren’t desperate for a quick sale so no silly offers either please. PM me if you’re interested in the first instance, we’ll have a chat and go from there.

Stuart,
Looks really solid - I am away till Sunday but a mate of mine is looking for one and will let him know of yrs. will you replace it? If so what with??

No problem chap - cheers ;)

Don't think I'll replace with anything, hence no real rush to sell as nothing else lined up. Got enough cars around me, so downsizing more than anything ! If your mate is interested let me know ;)

He went to Dumfries last week to view one - haven't had a real chat due to connection issues. Gist of it was that he thought the vehicle was stolen as it was a puma tub ( vents missing and looked that new ) but was a 1996 year in advert - the bay I think! The guy was sketchy with answers. Looking forward to catching up with him as he is head of traffic in Cumbria Police !

Mine is a straight as a die - nothing to hide at all. If he wants to have a chat, let me know. Not going anywhere near Ebay with mine, can't be bothered with messers and tyre kickers.

Just what I am looking for... Would prefer one from an enthusiast, so if anyone is in here looking to sell a 90, even a project, send me a PM.. I have got an itch for a 90 that needs scratching!
