hi I drove range rover home yesterday parked up as normal as I switched off rr I had message on lcd
key battery low just thought need to get battery locked rr went in
came out next morning with battery to fit to key still got old one in key and now the problem starts cant open car with the buttons on key or with key in drivers door lock
had aa out they cant get in
read on here to put 12 volts on driver side indicator on wing had no joy there any ideas as I am thinking either key has lost programme (£54) or car battery is flat for some reason
land rover dealer needs rr and key aa have refused to pick car up as its in park on driveway and needs to have skates on wheels to load road is narrow for lorry etc etc
any ideas
so far have had hot start issue suspension height sensor issue now this lol

Don't understand why the drivers door won't open 'mechanically' with the key...... Do you not have a spare key for it?

I recently changed my fob battery with no issue, did you change battery immediately after removing the old one or leave it a while with no battery in?

the lock turns in door will not open
battery was changed by aa I just think that the car battery is flat as I was home in daylight im thinking I may of pressed lock twice which puts on the interior light with it being light didn't notice

Pressing lock twice will have superlocked it. That said, if the key is working it should still unlock it in the drivers door.
It certainly shouldn't put the interior light on.

It is a common thing for the L322 Mechanical side of the lock to fail....unfortunately.

On the L322 - one press superlocks, twice removes superlock and disables interior protection - the P38 is a press twice to superlock.

The L322 also has a 'find me mode' if once the car is locked, and you press the lock button, it will illuminate the interior lights as a way of spotting the car in a dark carp park.

Just a bit of lateral thinking.........if the light on the fob is coming on, can you get the boot open? If the front lock has failed try the button for the boot instead?

tried that also hence why I think car battery is flat
tried putting door lock turn and wait turn and wait while pressing unlock
when I depress the buttons on key the red led flashes
I think need to get lock out kit and open bonnet to see if car battery is flat

As Ant said sounds like lock mechanism may have failed, if not opening with key in lock. Flat battery does not prevent opening with key in lock. Is your alarm light still flashing?

To get power to it I believe you can connect a negative jump lead to the body / engine and carefully connect 12 volts to the main battery cable that’s connected to the starter solenoid while somebody operates the key fob. You will need to jack it up and all the usual safety precautions. It’s the battery cable , you don’t want to try and start it although I don’t think you could
I would also keep trying the key in the lock both ways as I have heard of them coming back to life but as Saint says it’s a common problem.

You may also be able to disconnect the gear selector and put it in neutral to move it but it won’t help your steering

It is feasible that your battery has enough power to run the clock and alarm LED but not enough to wake up the alarm and operate the central locking

I have given up been on ebay purchased a second hand window so will smash window to gain access then I will know if key needs reprograming or battery is flat bit harsh I know but cant see any other way
aa has been out twice had a mate whos a locksmith and he gave up

I may be wrong but if it is super locked you probably wont be able to open the door or bonnet if the door covers the bonnet lever, the central door locking button wont work so it's fingers crossed the ignition recognises the transponder and unlocks the steering and turns off the alarm and super locking and allows you to start it. if the battery is dead flat then you might find yourself in the same position you are in now only with a smashed window.

i have gone a head and control broken drivers window put in ignition all ok doors unlocked did battery test showed 6 volt so to me I had put on find me light which flattened battery at mo battery is on a slow charge which will take 24hrs plus
the press hazard lights red button don't work which they say resets things

Result then really , my battery went flat at the weekend but it would let me unlock with the remote but didn’t have enough power to talk to the key and unlock the steering.
I’ve not heard of the hazard light reset before, what does it reset ?
