Hi, my ex MOD 109 has failed mot on corroded rear out rigger. Looking around on line I believe the mod version is different from standard 109 outriggers (1 Tonne?), can anyone tell me, the difference and where I can get replacements, any help will be appreciated.

I have the same problem, mine are a pass but are towards the end of thier life. You have to buy the std outrigger and cut the spring hanger off then weld the old one on. No one makes the mil 2" drop hangers. It is possible to cut the old outrigger off and leave the spring hanger in place then weld the replacment (with the hanger cut off) over the top. It depends on where the rust is. I went to a local fabricators and they quoted £100 a side so I'll get it done later this year.
Someone posted how to do it on here with pictures, search for "Ex-Army 109 New Spring fit problem"

Thanks for the reply, looks like I'll have to go down this route!

I used standard outriggers, cut the hangers off them and left the old, two level hangers on the chassis. Imagine the cut away outrigger with all the rusty steel cut away before welding the new outrigger in place. Don't weld new metal over rusty old metal, no steel sandwiches.
Parts came from Paddocks.

Thanks for the replies & photos. New Standard ones just arrived,

Once you have the std ones its obvious where to make the cuts and how to fit them. Will you do it yourself of pay someone? As this is on my list I'd be interested in what you get charged.

Given photos of previous posts to a welder friend who has quoted £100 to modify& fit standard ones, (both sides) will update with photo’s & full cost next week hopefully,

As Rob: that is a good honest price. Do tell him that I did cut away all the rusty metal and apologize for my welding which isn't as good as it was when I used to weld nearly every day and my eyes worked better than they do now. Good luck to you.
