Range rover vogue 2002 dvd

Hi i have just brought a range rover vogue 2002 it has tv's in the back in the head rests i have put a dvd in the player in the boot turned on the screens and the menu of the dvd comes up but can't figure out how to play the dvd i have tried the remote control that came with the car and still no joy any one have any idea?

Relatively a new owner as well, but the black dvd player might be the dvd drive for the sat nav (to the left as you look to the front of the car behind the panel)..????
Can't add much on top of that though.

Hi andy cheers for the reply. i have 2 players in the boot one is the navigation system and i have a 6 disc dvd changer i will get a bit more information tomorrow when i go challenge it again i get a picture up of the dvd when screend are on but cant play them

I have a 2000 model with TV screens in the back. First replace the batteries in the remote. On each rear door shut you will see a button which changes the mode you should have separate remote for that, on mine it was VHT TV, DVD and PlayStation ( and digital TV which I added later) so select till you get the DVD. The rest is on the remote. Need ignition on. I actually never use any of it as the kids have grown up and watching TV in the back is a no no. Digital TV is unreliable too
