Hi all, been a long time since i have been on the site. I started a new project (converting a T5 van to a camper) still driving a 110 but wanted to add some comfort to the T5 I decided to buy some L322 front seats. Thought it would be simple enough to wire up but looking like i was wrong (As usual!!) has anyone got any experience of how i can wire up the seats starting from a 12v feed? ive spent an evening googling and not having much luck. i am including pics below of what i have and what the specs are. maybe someone might have an electrical diagram to get me started?

The l322 seats are memory seats and iirc move to which key unlocks the car, they may move back as well to let you get in, the steering column does, so may well be run from the becm, it may well be a case of tracing the wires from the switches and matching them to the appropriate function wire on the motors, its not going to be easy and I would avoid the yellow connector as that one I think is the air bags.
Hopefully some one more clued up will be along soon.

Thanks for the reply, what you said seems absolutely right and I think that is going to be the way forward. I think it's going to be a case of identifying the airbags and seatbelt pretensioner and cutting the wires at the source to avoid any mistakes and then tracing the wires to the switces

ok got them working. he's what i did, its very simple.

Maybe its just me but i looked everywhere on all kinds of forums both Landrover and VW and couldnt get the answer. SO! i spent a little while getting stuck with a multimeter and following cables. It turns out to be very easy for BOTH seats.

my Seats are from a circa 2006 Range Rover L322 Vogue With memory seats.

under the seat there are 3 block connectors, look for the larger of the 3

Terminal 1 is Positive 12v +
Terminal 7 is Negative (Earth)

I put sleeved spade connector over the terminal to test and hep presto, all works in all directions including the memory seats function without an ECU,

Well that was easier than I thought and it was the one I reckoned may be the air bags so surprised even more, a least we all know how to do it now, good luck with the rest of your camper conversion:) hope it goes as easy as the seat wiring.

Hi P38_Ireland!

What a nice surprise to discover your thread and what lovely seats they are!

I'm going to try and fit the L322 seats into my Audi A6, although I'm not sure how I will go on airbag-wise. :/
I hope your project is coming along well, and if you have any further information for good or bad, I might get to hear it.

I need the L322 seats because I find them to be very comfortable - I had major spine injury a few years back and have had four seats of A8 seats fitted in my 2012 A6 without getting nicely comfortable. So I went to my 2006 L322 and measured the seat rails and all seems to be ok dimension wise for fitting to the A6.

I you or anyone else can get back with any further information that might help me or the auto electrician do the job.

Thanks in advance.

With best regards.

Paul.
