I am looking to buy a Land Rover 90 for weekend fun and also a good investment. Can anyone please advise what to go for. I have about 20 k to spend.

Try your local Land Rover dealer with 20k to spend he will treat you like a king till you have spent your pot.

£20k is a good budget chap, you should get a good one for that money.

BUT....

If you don't know Landy's take someone with you who really does. Not someone who can have a poke about and say 'it looks OK' - someone who knows Landy's. It's very easy indeed to buy a pup, even with your budget....

Age and year is nothing to do with it fella - it's all about condition. If you don't know what to look for when buying a Defender you'll buy the first shiny turd you see.

Absolute minefield, which is why I said make sure you take someone with you who REALLY knows Landy's if you don't yourself.

What do you mean by weekend fun? If it's anything likely to cause damage you're wasting your money spending all your budget.

Fair point....if it's going to spend it's life in mud and water I wouldn't be spending £20k. Buy an old beater and repair as you go.
