So my eas pump failed but not in the usual way. I stripped it down to find the thermal switch open circuit no big deal replaced it with a good one from an old spare pump....ditto nothing then it sprung into life then cut out again.
Out came the test meter again everything checks out ok......accept some of the windings on the motor its self are open circuit.

New pump on order from kurt the cars up and running with my old rebuilt pump for now but i dont think its making max pressure as it keeps running and never vents from the exhaust.

I had a track on the circuit board the thermal switch is on burn out once. Those boards are pretty crap IMO.

They do seem a bit random i can under stand piston seal etc..thermal switch.... but iv had the bearings go in one pump...seal go in another now the bloody windings...

Thats why i cant be arse to mess around just message kurt on here and get a new one job done that way i know im starting with a good new pump and can work from there.

I've seen several pumps still intermittent after changing the thermal switch. Issue was resolved by soldering the wires properly, especially the PCB crimp next to the thermal switch.

I actually replaced the whole rear plate from a known good working pump as a process of elimination its defo the motor windings faulty. I confirmed with my multi metre half are o/c
