Pedal Lock SPECIAL OFFER to LZ members

Well, I ordered one on Friday.

Came this afternoon, here are the photos, with it fitted, and then turned as much as can be without trying to damage anything or apply leverage.
Finish could be better , a slightly sharp edge from the manufacturing process and the lock has been damaged on its front edge where it fits through the plate. But certainly not going to cause an issue with use and will only get more damaged as I leave it in the back when driving.
As said by @lightning , the end being open is a potential cause for concern, However as a further deterrent including the handbrake and Disclock, then I think it adds another element. A cheap way to try and prevent a theft. Good news it cones with 5 keys so I do not have to worry about losing one.

EDIT: for the cost Delta, I can cut a piece of steel and weld it in place....LOL.

That’s the good thing about the X Eng one, no need to heave it around the cab and store it while driving.

But anything you can fit is good. If nothing else it means the thieves will need specialist tools to steal your vehicle.

I’ve got one of the above pedal locks on our 90 as l couldn’t stretch to nearly £200 for another X Eng one.

It will be getting a wee tweak in the near future to the open end, as that is a weak spot. But as I have said it is a another good deterrent. Weight wise, is easier to handle than the Disclok, as it gets taken off and put in place when stood outside the car. It is only going to be used at home or on extended trips as storage inside the vehicle alongside the disclok will be a PITA. Unless I can make a way to clip it into place on the bulkhead bar using spring clips.

Guys, if you can afford the pedal lock that is permanently fitted to the floor of the vehcile then do so. I've had the big bulky heavy effort and it's no good for your back, its really heavy and awkward especially when parking in a car park and its a pain to find somewhere to put it that wouldnt take your head off in a collision. Sorry to put a dampner on things just trying to help.

The one I have pictured above, Sorry Mate, but if it causes you back pain? then either you have a serious underlying problem in your back or you are trying to lift it in a strange way to cause any pain. I weighed it and it comes in at 6KG.

A floor mounted one may, in some ways better and I did think of getting one, but as My landy is often full of mud and water I decided having something that was removable would be a better solution for my Landie.

Its mainly because I'm reaching over lifting in an incorrect way. I have arthritis in my back by the way.

I tried to use the side step to make sure I was lifting properly but still I think it was that which has been causing a sore back. I even made one on in work with stainless steel but never got round to welding the padlock to it.

I’ve heard that the NHS are now doing courses on lifting techniques,

I don’t think there’s a ‘safe way’ to lift the pedal lock in and out to be honest. Unless you do it one handed whilst keeping your back straight but then you’d look really dodgy.

@Post, which pedal lock do you have?, please post a picture. As it must be much heavier than the one shown in this post. However if you have as you say an underlying back problem then do not use it full stop if it is the cause of pain to you. For a normal healthy person , then I would expect them to be able to fit , remove and lift the unit as shown in this post without any issues.

Mine is one of the steel yellow ones.

Turn it over grab hold of the lock, this is near the centre of balance, this makes it easy to handle open the rear door and put in the box you have that stop crap flying around in the back of your vehicle

Got this one a couple of months ago, very pleased with it. A bit more cost than Neilly's at £100 and a lot less than the folding variety. But has side plates and a metal box enclosing the lock, the box is welded around the full perimeter to the main plate. Hopefully it will never be put to a full test.

Love Adrenalin stuff, I have their trailing arms. They're made just up the road from me .. usually very over engineered, which in my book is a good thing ..

You can see where the extra money has gone, Looks a nice bit of kit. But at £112 delivered , I will still give mine a wee tweak with the welder.LOL.

Just under £100 inc delivery if you buy it from them on flea bay. Got to work out a method of docking it while driving, which might be a short chain and carabiner hook. Will have a look tomorrow.

The cheapie one without the sides , does mean I can hook it under a toolbox retaining bar from the drivers seat. LOL.

Yes, been flashing away since early december, waiting to see how long the battery lasts before it needs changing.
