Hi all brand new here to day. I’m currently stuck between a 110 utility or a 130 with a quardtec box. I do require more room with the 130. I was wanting a response from an owner of one on length and usability or some one who has been in same position or gone from a 130 to a 110 Thanks

I’d of thought a 130 will be a bit of a barge compared to a 110. Even a 110 doesn’t have the tightest of turning circles if your going into tight places.

A 130 is shorter than every modern pickup truck on the market and a fair bit narrower too.

Physical size is not an issue... although the turning circle is poor, due to the live front axle.

VW Amarok:

Length: 206.9 in
Width: 76.5 in

Defender 130

Length: 204 in
Width: 70 in

Thanks for that. I had a spin in a mates mate today and your totally correct. Made the phone call to say ‘ yes I’ll have the 130’. Only to be let down but saying ‘ we’ve had a deposit on it’. I learnt to day that it’s only money and if you want it get it as soon as you see it

Did you like driving it? I felt like they bend in the middle at speed (I'd hope that's a placebo rather than real) and they sit very high. The rear box is hard to get used to as I kept seeing it in my periferals and feeling like I was being undertaken. Maybe they're both things you can get used to. Anyone turning a 110 knows it's like a locomotive, anyone turning a 130 knows its like a planet. Dont think you get used to that.

I had a 110 for many years, after a while you get used to needing 2 bites at the cherry to get it into parking spaces at supermarkets. Borrowed a 130 for a week (courtesy car while my 110 was having some work done) and it was terrible to park, mind you the one I had did have a high-cap tray on the back. Other than that it was alright on the road, but the only way I would want to be an owner would be if I had a real need for it, like firewood deliveries that sort of thing.
