Hi folk, has anyone had any joy with purchasing anything from the above company, or getting a refund, I ordered a WATTS linkage kit for my D2 from the above, around 23/24 dec, after taking the advice from many on our board, I cancelled the order, I have since had a few emails saying we don't DO poly bushes so we will need to cancel your order, thanks I said, since then nothing, I need these parts, only got one more week off, e-mail d them asking where my cash was, Today I got a reply, looks like they are determined to hold on to my cash, email ran along the lines of here is what everyone else uses, OEM and here is our price, been phoning for days now either to get the oem parts or a refund, deff looks like a one man band and he is on holiday, phone I've been ringing for days says hello this is island 4x4 we will be with you shortly, aye right, any thoughts on this company folk :-(

I used them for quite a lot of engine stuff around April/May this year without issue.

Thanks for the post, never saw any Xmas times on the site I found, but I have been refunded, so someone is listening.

Thanks, times not on the site I found, but got refunded all the same.

They're an hour from me, so I go to the shop in person. I can honestly say, they're a good crowd but desperately understaffed. I've been standing in the shop while the phone rings... and rings... and rings, there simply isn't anyone to answer it!
No excuse of course, but I don't think they'd hold onto your money for any other reason than not getting round to sorting the problem out, they've always been totally honest with me.

You have to wonder how much business they lose by not having a way to answer customers by phone and email within a suitable time.

Cheers

Been to a lot of LR places over the years, most are genuine guys doing their best to service customers as best they can, when you chat to them for a bit (phone not ringing or you're in a mad rush) they've all said the same thing over the years, they just can't find good enough staff who are both interested in LRs and good behind the counter, in recent years they have said that it is even more complicated these days as so many people are ordering online and they are stretched between the phone, the computer and parts stores, it takes a lot of multi-tasking and some people are just not into having to try and do so much running around on the clock, it's obviously different if you are the owner or business partner at least.

I sympathise with both you and Island on this issue, yes you want the parts, but you ordered them at peak holiday season when a lot of people actually want to spend time with families, I still remember a time when there was literally nothing open for the week between Christmas eve and 2nd January, maybe the odd day in between but certainly not to the scale of today's industrial shopping complexes where they are almost unaware that Christmas still exists, something that I actually find abhorrent, it's to the point now where working in retail is the same as working in hospitality, seldom few days off during, what are for most, holidays.

Although my only advice here is to try and order your parts a bit further in advance of needing them next Christmas.

Very happy with them, parts turned up today as they promised (on the website) dispatched on Friday. All good.

As said above, it was the holiday season and everyone is entitled to a break.

Of course they are, all the wrong strings were pulled, actually feel for the chap running the business, and would use them again
