I have a "pull to stop" knob on my diesel and i have a clip that holds it in the stop position, low tech but it could fool a hurried thief.

I have a scattering of used shotgun shells on the dash.

Is your battery located in the engine bay? If so did you loop under the bulkhead to put the switch in the seatbox? thanks everyone for your help on this
