Discovery 3 juddering

Well not really a few grand i will do belts my self at the week end as with oil pump if it needs it and belt kits only 150
torque converter is 300
and oil pump if needed 89
I have a mate who has a lorry repair yard
With all the big trolly jacks etc and pump trucks I can use so I would be indoors if taking off the box
I’ve read and read and it does seem not too bad to get off just a tad heavy
No diag yet that’s next I do have a Delphi unsure if that reads them or not
 
No private mate and tbh it’s a 2009 hse and it’s loverly and only have 5000 for it so was expecting something wrong with it
Maybe it’s worth checking the oil level first and topping it up a bit as it was noted having a leak in 2015 on mot but couldn’t see any oil anywhere underneath
thks, did u buy it from a garage as if u did i would be throwing it back at them, good call in not using it until u can find out about the belts etc , they are done every 7 x years or 105,000 miles

as you’ve just got it and a daft question but has the oil been checked and to ensure it’s at the correct level and what kind of condition it’s in

u may be heading towards a good few grand , if the belts , oil pump , TC req doing

think if u check the oil first and then go from there , maybe after adding some Dr tranny to see if it improves things

has it by chance been on a diagnostic reader

Right guys (and maybe girls) I have done some looking today and have noticed this
The pipe here looks like it’s been leaking and maybe still is cause the pipe is loose
Could this problem actually be that’s it is indeed low on fluid thanks people

yes maybe the level has got low and causing probs.
ummm as for the timing belts i have read around and they say belts is sometimes a body off job as it is very hard to get to the belt at the rear of the engine.
but just google timing belt replacement on disco 3.

edit.... i dont think the body has to come off.

Yes mate done loads of reading and seems that mine being a 58 plate should already have the new oil pump housing as they used the old ones upto 08 and from 08.5 which i presume is 58 is the newer ones

And yes will check the level tommorow before I do anything as if it low then that may cause shuddering as it need oil pressure to lock the clutch so I’m sure if it’s low it carnt lock properly hopefully anyway
 
I’d imagine if gearbox oil was seriously low the box would have overheat issue and a fault code wide be evident with a restricted performance message displayed, but worth a check anyway
