So the poor old girl failed her MoT test today, couple of easy fixes, but one I haven’t done before... swivel joint.
I’ve got top bush/bottom bearing combo, am I correct in thinking that I can have a shuffle about with the top shims to try and tighten things up? Or is it new bush time ( which I guess I should do anyway whilst I’m getting my hands dirty ).
Cheers all.

yes but support bottom pin with a jack before undoing the top

bracket will bend enough if your careful and brake line isnt corroded, otherwise clamp flexi and undo youd need a 13mm and 17mm open ended

it is close - you will probably just about manage it .... a good trick is to cut a slot in the bracket to allow the hard line to slide out of the bracket, which means the caliper can then be hung up on a bungee out of the way...

I did one last week, and used a dremel to cut the slot with the pipes still connected up - needs a bit of care - but you knew that!

Cheers for the tip! I always try and be careful, whether I’m successful or not is a different matter!
