Having now acquired a 2A Maltese cross grill to fit to my series 3 does nay one have the part numbers for the mounting brackets or a link to the parts book so that I can find the fittings I will need?
I would like to make it look as tidy and original as possible rather than just finding some fixings that would work.

The SIII front slam panel has two lugs on the bottom of the left and right air holes, facing in the way, left over from when the changed to lights in the wings. Each have two holes in. Get a piece of steel as wide as the lug and about half as much again long. Form this into a question mark shape with the hook big enough to fit the bottom of the grille in. Make another exactly the same, and then rivet them to the lugs. Pretty much job done....two screws through the badge and your sorted. :)

I will have to take the current grill off and have a look as I have no idea which lugs you are talking about. But I have proberly never noticed them as I have not needed them before. A very simple solution however, I will have to dig around and find some sheet stainless to bend up.

They should be at the bottom edge of the holes, in the middle of the outer two, facing inwards. Should even have holes in them ready to rivet or bolt to. They were there on mine, which is 1982, and I think its a left over from the late 2a. LR liked to get their moneys worth out of their tooling! Only got to look at the bulkhead of the transit engined defender to see that :)

If you find a bolt of the same sort of diameter as the grille, then you can clamp that in the vice with your metal, and form round that. I think I used an M8 coach bolt.
