Freelander 1 Boot led's

I've had a wee bit of time recently to work on the landy. Got a strip of blue LEDs to update the boot lighting
just a quick photo, and I'll take more in the next couple of days.

I've also
Painted the rear drums black
Painted spare wheel carrier black
Took off tow bar, de rusted and painted blue
De rusted rear subframe and painted with anti corrosion paint
Tidied up front towing eyes and bottom grill, all painted blue.
Replaced diff mounts
Checked/topped up diff oil

After getting it through its mot I had a burst of enthusiasm haha.
Only advisory on mot was brake pipes greased, hahahah picked up that tip from an old mechanic

You planning on having discos in there?

Haha, it is brighter than expected.
But a great improvement on the stock light

Having brighter boot lighting is a good idea - can be a bit dim in there thanks to 20th century lighting technology

I'm tempted to swap the standard festoon bulbs for LED...

I've kitted out my interior lights with LEDs. The front is using an LED array, designed and built by me.
The rear is using a pre-made festoon unit that contains 2 Cree XB-D emmiters. I'm very impressed with the light output of both mine and the pre-made lights. The boot is on my todo list.

Crikey, as if Freelanders hadn't got enough to cope with.

I've had a few different LED light sources fitted over the last year.
I'm currently using 10 emmiter array of 3528 sized emmiters. These soldered onto copper clad strip board and are being driven at 400mA (40mA per chip). The light is brilliant white and the assembly runs at an acceptable temperature.
The rear light fitting is housing one of these. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-39mm-10w...LIGHT-BULBS-/152240604586?txnId=1593553174005. It's brilliant white and much easier to install in the light unit.

careful lads the tratters are already calling us gaylanders and hairdressers. but I suppose they are jealous because if they tried to put lights in like that it would show the rust up even more LOL
