YRM stainless footwells

has anyone fitted the stainless foot wells from YRM?
If so how was the fit etc?
Did ya weld them in or bolt them?
Any thoughts?

Do they not have something on their website to say how to fit them?

I see their website says either/or.
I would opt to cut back to good metal and butt weld them in, then grind joint flat. I can't see how bolting them in would make a neat job?

You would need to use stainless welding rod/wire. Then the problem would be a issue of cracking if butt welded as the add mixture of dissimilar metal could be a problem.
Would be better to cut out the rotten steel clean and then use a very good primer on the steel. Then lap the new piece of stainless over the repair area and drill all the holes for stainless pop rivets, then lift the pieces apart and put a good quality body adhesive for between the 2 pieces, then pop rivet then together. this will give you a very strong repair and also water tight

That's what I was thinking re fitting them.
I just wondered if anyone actually had!
They don't seem to have pre drilled holes like their mild steel equivalents...

i wouldnt bother use mild steel ,stainless will only speed up rot on the non stainless

that is why I mentioned good primer and body adhesive as a contact barrier
