mate you need to call alot of people to get the best deal, dont use comparison site's because you can often get a better deal speaking to a real person.

I'm 20 and drive a disco v8i I had quotes between £1600 and £5000! also with my on the policy as a named driver it went up by £150 and hes 41!

It's not the speed that counts because my daily drive is a new volvo which is alot more money and alot quicker but insurace would be half cost.

Just shop around

have said it many times, will say it again... footman james insured me on my land rovers (110 and then a 90) for £729 for my first year, £558 for the second, etc etc. I was 17 at the time.

give them a RING, don't use their website.

Is this still the case - anyone got any recent experience of young person insurance with Footman James... thanks.

Just rang Footman James - they won't insure any 17 year old on any vehicle - Landie or otherwise. Only touch them when they have held a license for 12 months now... Drat!

Looking for some recommendations on insurance for a D2, being 19 without any no claims it's tricky.
Adrian flux quoted me £3095 for 3rd party fire and theft. I don't really want to pay more than the landys worth  also said adding an experienced dricer to the policy wouldn't really make any price difference.
Footman James wouldn't give me a quote
NFU said they won't quote anyone under 25 for that type of vehicle.
And I can't be dealing with a black box, braking and accelerating hard all day on country roads..
