going to be in the market for some on/ off road tyres for the disco 2 18 inch

I want something that will be good in the occasional drive in mud/ up the shoot but I Do Not want any road noise

Any one recommend something they have actually tried and are reasonably priced

Any info much appreciated

You have a D2 with 18" wheels and want tyres with NO NOISE that are reasonably priced but will still handle mud etc ... Holy grail, mate, holy grail ....)

BFG AT's ..

Pirelli ATR are almost silent on my D3 they replaced Pirelli Zero which were a pure road tyre, best of all the ATR are meant to be very long lasting.

must admit my cooper at/3 are surprisingly quite , was expecting them to drone at motorway speeds

don't know what kind of mileage i will get out them though;)

I don't know whether it's just me, but I've never been bothered by tyre noise. The only time I can remember hearing the tyres I had just changed a track rod end and was driving to a garage where I could get the tracking reset; yeah, they did squeal a bit on the corners that day!
I think it was Avon Rangers used to make that characteristic Land Rover noise on the road.

Deestone extra traction were awful, sounded like a helicopter was chasing you.
My hankook rto3s (mt) seemed quite quiet. Well they didn't sound louder than the v8 anyway.

I picked up a set of 5 barely used general grabber at2s in a bigger than standard size for only 250 quid, theyre mega in the mud and only slightly noticeable noise with window down :)

Avon Ranger are good for road use and not bad off road either

The f**king w**kers do not make them any more!!!!!!!!!!
