Are there any issues with leaving ignition switched to II

Is it ok to turn the ignition key to position II, when all the warning lights come on and leave it like that for a long time?
I help a friend out, marshalling fell runs that he organises. The Landy can get up on to the fell tops up here and transport food and water to set up a food station. He gave me a radio powered by a !2v socket. I only have the cigarette lighter socket, which only powers up with the ignition on. Just wondering if I need to put in a dedicated socket for future events?

it wont hurt as long as your battery is good

Cheers, James. I thought so, but wanted to check!
I presume heater plugs auto switch off after a fixed time. Does the stop solenoid open then or on actual crank? Other than the warning lights, does anything else power up on a my 1996 LR?

Personally,

I would put in a fused power supply. Then I do not need to have the keys in the ignition.

Cheers
I was thinking this is the way I need to go, neilly. Should be easy enough to install.

only thing is stop solenoid but it wont mind

I wouldn't be able to do that, my mind would be to paranoid that I would train the battery and the truck wouldn't start later on. For the sake of £10 I would get another battery from the scrap yard and run it off that or if it's just a radio a 20ah alarm battery.

On my TD5 and 300tdi, the cigarette lighter socket was live with the ignition on position 1.
Which seems to also energise the heater blower and not much else.
