Has anyone ever had the above issue? On my drive into work today the oil light suddenly came on and stayed on, regardless of whether the clutch was down or not. I was on the motorway so couldn't stop but I knew that my oil level was fine, had recently had a new oil pump and oil pressure switch fitted. It was only when I reversed into a parking space at work that I noticed the trail of oil behind me. Upon inspection there was a ton of oil around the filter housing. It was only leaking when the engine was running however but when it did it was a rather large amount that seemed to be coming only from the pressure switch. My first thought was that the housing was cracked but I've taken it off and cleaned it up a little and can't see any cracks around the pressure switch area at all. Could the washer on the switch cause it to leak that much oil if it was faulty or overtightened? Or am I looking at something entirely different

can be ,obviously without seeing yours, oils at 50psi will soon pass a fair bit even through a small leak, the drop in pressure is a switch fault not actual pressure that would be if so a different issue
