Hi everyone,

when pushing the clutch (and going off throttle) before shifting, a strange sound is coming. It is getting louder over the last weeks, and I don't have a clue what this can be.
It isn't only there when shifting, but also when you drive a certain speed and go off throttle.
Hard to describe the sound, but I'll try it: It sounds "circulair" and it is like you have a couple of metal strips (bigger than in a steel brush) touching a turning piece.

all ideas are welcome :)

That'll be the circular metal strips rubbing on the turning piece. Nothing to worry about unless the upside downy thing starts moving side wards.

Propshaft UJ? Although I'd describe it as more of a rhythmic tinkle.... Time to get underneath, lift a wheel turn a few bits around and have a listen and a good feel for any play in the drivetrain.

X1 it's definitely the huggerflip thingmaybub and if not attended to the dofferwhatsit could fail.

Check oil levels in rear diff , transfer case and gearbox.
Intermediate gear in transfer case thrusts from one side of the casing to the other every time you go power on / off due to the angle of the teeth.
After a run out check handbrake drum temp in case it is binding.
Does your speedo needle sit steady or eratic? If eratic could be re output flange nut needs tightening [on handbrake drum centre].
