Apparently... it's a hardened steel pin.
you should be able to knock it out somehow and replace it with something like the end off a HSS drill bit.
so... round!!

Thanks. Yes that's what I'm thinking. Will use a drill bit and if necessary put a bit of welding on it to keep it in place if not tight enough. Will post the results. Or try making a step by step process with pics.

Most often, it's the nylon bush that wears.

I had one 3D printed to replace mine when the clutch gets done, otherwise, it's only available as part of a new selector quadrant...

is 3D printing going to be man enough for the job @disco_mikey ?
I now have a spare box, so going to have a play when the weather allows!
Actually - Just broken a full 5dr Td4 (anyone want any doors and a bonnet in good nick?? - lol )

@xpuser8334 please update with any reaults. Maybe do a batch if any good and sell them.
Also do you have the large rubber bushes from the upper and lower engin tiebar? Have been looking for them but can't find any. Have replaced them to polybushes but vibration is horrible so want to get back to rubber ones and only ones I found are complete with brackets. And put shipping cost up.

I removed this part from the car today and noticed the tip looks very worn.
There is a lot of movement in the gear selector rods before it's even started to move the gear change selector shaft quadrant (as the Rave disc calls it).
Is it supposed to have a cam shape to it or is it supposed to be round?

Hi, This part on my Freelander looks like it is causing the 'wobbly gearstick' and I want to take it out and repair it
as suggested by Duncan. I am not sure how it is fixed in place., can it be done without removing engine/gearbox ??
Tips welcomed.
