I fitted a new double DIN head unit today, and noticed when testing it that the drivers door speaker isn't working.

I was hoping that a wire had just come loose, but when I pulled the panel off, the connectors to the speaker were damp.

I have a child's knowledge when it comes to anything electronic, so what do I have to do to make the speaker work again?

Replace it would be a good start;)

I thought that might be the case! It was only a bit damp on the terminals of the speaker and the connectors on the wires...but does this mean my whole speaker is likely to be toast? Will there be any other area damaged perhaps?

So if I can get a new speaker to fit (I noticed the LR one was not round ) and put new connections on the wires, I'll be okay? Or do I need to replace the wires too?

The speaker could have rusty connections, which is common.
However water can track into the speaker's coil, causing permanent damage.
You can replace like for like to make things easy. Or fit a pair of standard sized replacements, making the necessary adapters to fit them.
