Sorry if my question is in the wrong place. I have a 2005 truck cab defender 90 with the Td5 engine in it. On the steering fluid reservoir cap it has written on it "ZF PA6" . So what fluid to I buy to put in it ? Sorry if this is a stupid question !

Hi Jess,

I suspect that is the manufacturer of the system and PA6, is an international code for Nylon 6, the material used to make the cap.

The correct fluid is in the manual, if you do not have one, then you can download the owners manual and workshop manuals from here onto a computer.

Doh, forgot the link........

You will need the Rave02.iso file.

No problems, I forgot to put the link into the post,:oops: , if you look at it again you will see the link to rave. Then you will have the info to hand.
Good luck.

Welcome,

If you use it, it also means that others and yourself have a common reference to use if you have any problems.
Can make trouble shooting a little easier.
Ref , where you posted, something like this would probably get seen more if it was posted in the 90/110/130 / defender section.

Good luck, and anything more , do not hesitate to shout out.

Cheers

i just use normal ATF dexron 3 never had issues ..ps on nearly all my vehicles I have owned I have stuck magnets in filters and reservoirs ..my Td5 currently runs a glued strong magnet on plastic the steering rez ..if I tilt my rez on a angle I can see slight swarf build up located in the magnet area ...the swarf that is collected via the magnet stops it running through the pump multiple times
the same idea comes from auto transmissions with magnets in the pan
PS there is a gauze screen located in side the rez
