Upgrade Freelander Front

Carrying on from the thread discussing fitting the front of the upgraded Freelander 1 to my 2003 Freelander I am also looking at the possibility of fitting a Plastic compound Nudge Bar instead. I have seen these Nudge bars which have a Spotlight either side fitted in them but I can"t for the life of me find anyone who sells them. I"ve looked on ebay, Gumtree etc but no go. Any ideas please.

Are you talking about the facelift bar like mine?

Yes similar, but I have seen some that have small spotlights//fog lights actually built into the nudge bar either side of the number plate

That was the pre-facelife A bar. The spot pods are an extra that fitted over part of the A bar and the bumper. Both items have be unavailable for best part of a decade. They do pop up on EBay from time to time, but aren't cheap. They won't fit the facelift front end either.
The facelift uses a different A bar (like mine) with additional lighting by pod mounted spots.

Thanks for that. Still looking for a reasonably priced Facelift TD4 scrapper in my area, but if I can"t find one I might a resort to just fitting, if I can find one, a nudge bar like the one in the photo. Back to the facelift, I think I read somewhere on this site that the wiring for the lights is different on the Facelift model to my 2003 TD4. do you know if this is correct?

I think there may be a difference as I'm pretty sure the pre facelift uses h4 headlight bulbs where as my facelift has two h7 I dare say someone will correct if I am wrong

Just noticed yours is a 2003 it must be a late pre facelift as mine is also 2003 but is a facelift model

Yeah, mine was first registered in September 2003, so probably one of the last non facelifted models, but saying that she"s a cracking motor and probably the best TD4 I"ve owned, but I would still prefer a 3 door facelifted TD4.
