No problem putting tubes in steel wheels and tubeless, not sure about alloys because of the valve positions on some

So, what are you carrying in your car in case you need it?
As far as I am aware , tubeless wheels and tyres should not have tubes fitted.

At one point in time a lot of peeps were liking the mercedes van bottle jack available on the bay of flea.

if i'm honest i had lapsed looking for one as i was doing some other bits and with the trolley jack in there i knew i was covered
must get one, thks ref the merc jack, did have a quick look on smc
reminds me @biggeeeee got one a little while ago , hopefully he will be kind enough for the link , also what height it will go
will also check out the merc jacks

as a side note there's reports ref the sprinter jack of them failing
will check out ebay for the d 2 jack
failing that , do u happen to know what the total jack height of ur bottle jack is please
so i can then compare it with other ones if i can't find a D2 one

There are a couple of D2 bottle jacks on the bay, but at 30 to 40 quid plus carriage, I think it's a bit OTT. There are also similar ones for a lot less. The D2 jack is a "two stage" type I believe, so the lift is quite considerable. The ones on the bay don't say if the handles are included, so that might be another consideration, as might the possible deterioration of the seals due to age.

Unless yer gonna try and balance yer whole vehicle by jacking it up in the middle you've no need of a 5ton jack.
Everyone always worries about how high a jack goes but a decent block of wood will always give a little extra.
What's really important for an on board jack is will it go under where you want it WHEN YOU HAVE A FLAT!
been looking through ref these and agree i need to ensure it will go under
seems u jack them on the wish bone and not the chassis if u just want to replace a tyre
seems a cross amount of info regarding in what setting u have to put the disco in, to stop it trying to adjust its suspension as u try and jack it up
have also got full breakdown cover

Took the back bumper off to sort out the rust patches
And gave it the good news with my angle grinder, Por15 and dinitrol
Then set about the rest of the chassis
Then thought I'd better do a proper job and removed the sill covers
Pretty solid under there which is good to know, also removed the front bumper, grill and head lights so I could do the front panel. Unfortunately I managed to get por15 in my hair and a splodge on my scalp
Got to wait for the rest to grow out a bit
Only fluid changes to do now then that should be it for a while

I really need to get the por15 out on my truck soon.
Also my MFU started working again tonight. So looks like I've got a dodgy/loose wire somewhere to find.
