Jack wise all I have is a Ford mondeo jack. Can't get hold of fiL. Is this usable lads?? Can sling an axle stand in boot anorl

Yea I think it would be fine was just checking weights etc.. would you be available to help out tomorrow or Monday

I might have more luck raising a trolley jack in the morning. All the boyos are out and their garages n sheds are out of bounds to wives n birds.

Be a damn sight easier to do in the light as well.

Halfords opens at 10 and I've got a trade card so if anything was needed that's an option.

Might have a cheapo red trolley jack on the borrow in the morning. Mate just needs to find it after several pints etc!!

Got a 2 tonne trolley jack and 3 tonne stands not being used at the moment further down the Ebbw Valley, parts wise Bearmach are just outside of Caerphilly but won't be open until Monday, Halfords is your best bet for tomorrow else Euro Car Parts is either Pontypridd or Newport (both not open until Monday)

@pontyslapper came out to me this morning (what a legend) and fixed the fuel leak problem with ease. Paul is a very nice and knowledgeable person I am forever greatful for the help that I received. He even took me to get fuel once the repair was done. I hope to one day be able to return the favour to this awesome community.
A leg-end in his own lunchtime :).

You can... become a participating member of the forum and join up to LZIR and offer to help others in to local area.

What was the leak?

No problem - glad to have now done an official LZIR rescue! Made me realise I need to sort out my 'lack' of a jack as they are all in action on the lightweight rebuild - quick forage in the 'rents garage this afty for 'my first red car jack' if only for it to live unloved in the boot of the Ka awaiting its moment.

I'm also going to revisit my 'grab' box as stuff has migrated into and out of it as other jobs have needed 'extras' etc
@Zomgie well done for joining up - even if its a borrow of a spanner, cup of tea or local knowledge it all helps. I'm hardly the most mechy techy bloke by far. Just happiest when spannering Landy's - its like medicine for the soul!
