A big hello from York.

I became the proud owner of one of my dream cars last October, a shiny black 2005 Range Rover 4.2 Supercharged. Sure enough it's a man thing but I've spent years buying presents for my kids so decided to treat myself. What about my wife?, you may ask. Well she was against the idea from the outset but guess who has spent the most time driving it. The kids think it's great and will jump in every time the key turns. All in all it has made a positive stamp on the family.

That said she can be either Black Beauty or The Beast. Although, I have a list as long as your arm to get her running perfectly every time we venture off the drive, she has spent the last few weeks going nowhere. If anyone out there can offer a clue as to the meaning of the dashboard display fault codes in the attached picture that are displayed "every time the key turns from 0 to I" I will be extremely grateful. after this at position II - nothing, not even a cough. The RAC man couldn't get her to fire up even when he jumped the starter motor. The engine turns but no sign of life. All polite suggestions will be investigated to the full.

Looking forward to a long and enjoyable association with fellow Landyzone members.

Tricky.

hey man, welcome. Our lass is from York! Stick this in the range rover section matey! It's not the ignition barrel? There is other mentions of this on here... Good luck.

Mate, welcome listen why not save yourself some time and money and go to a specialist and get it sorted out right, of course it'll cost. The wife and kids can go without for a week or two.
The supercharge is a beast in its own right and without the proper gear you can make it worse. Unless some of the lads on here can put it right of course.
Good luck

Like your thinking. I do have a couple of specialist options available one keen to re-program the various ECU's as I've had a new alternator fitted but it was working fine after it was put on.

Personally, I am more in favour of getting all the moisture out of the car, especially as I found a cm of water in the tire well. I have now deployed a dehumidifier in the cabin and opened the glove box to air the fuses. Under the bonnet is more tricky but as my login suggests I'll find a way around the challenge.

I take on board your suggestion and have cash in wait, hopefully, it won't be discovered and used for other purposes.

I just wanted to post the resolution to my non-starting issue.

Earth Strap - Engine to chassis. That and a long time spent pulling and cleaning fuses. Regarding the fuses, get all the moisture out of the car, it's the kiss of death for the electrics in these cars.

My car is now running great every time we turn the key she fires up, sweet. Fingers crossed it'll get through the winter!
