So, being a complete newbie, I've got no bloody idea about all this radio comms stuff - can someone break it down into simple words that a West Country bloke can understand? Not sure if I want to fork out on a full CB setup as don't know at this stage how much use it'll get and / or whether that's the best option. So is there a "this is a cheap 'n' cheerful handheld doda that'll do the job for what's needed round the lanes for the weekend" option that someone can point me in the direction of?

Does that mean in a good way or are we talking drunken initiation ceremonies??? :D

I was thinking more along the lines of those PMR things that were mentioned - had a quick look on eBay and they seem to range from only a few quid up to about a hundred or so - if it's 15 or 20 quid and it'll charge in the car then it's probably worth having one to keep in the glove box anyway - if others use them for local trips round the lanes then I might find it useful at other times too.

I've just got no clue what i'm look at, or what i'm looking for.

Sorry I can't help, I've got a CB fitted but it's probably worth starting a fred in general chat rather than here.

They are just all normal blokes/wimmin.
It's not a bikers rally where you get dragged round a field by your ankles tied to the back of a hardtail chop.
CB is used by the leader and tail end Charlie only so no one gets left behind or lost and gates are left as found.

It is nice when the banter starts flowing though :)

Looking at the past photos it seems members have decided to dress down for the occasion. I of course will be adorning my usual Toad of Toad Hall garb to match my classic Land Rover ambiance.
I think a dicky may be overkill but at very least a cravat with ones breeks and waistcot should be an attainable norm people. Oh and corduroy is much more acceptable that last years tweed or waxed cotton.

@Bobsticle ,

Corduroy Mankini???? with a waxed cotton cravat obviously

Cheers

so assume the ladies will be wearing this kind of attire then :p:D
