Injection pump locking screw.

1997 discovery 300tdi manual gearbox.
Reading the Haynes manual about injection pump timing and it mentions the injection spindle locking screw. There's a diagram in the manual, but on my injection pump, the screw/bolt isn't where it shows in the manual. The disco manual only goes up to N Reg, but mines a P Reg. Any idea where the locking screw might be?

I think the screw is only on the 200 TDI pump and not the 300 (yes they are different)

Ah right, thanks. Apart from the licking pin and three pulley bolts, is there a similar method of timing the 300 tdi pump?

Are you sure you have the right Haynes manual for a 300tdi?
Have you downloaded the rave manual?

Yes, the Haynes manual is for all discovey 1's, but only up to N Reg. There isn't a newer manual.
I had the rave manual on my old PC, which is now with my ex wife! Lol
Ill have to download it again if I can find a link.

I think you will find there is...........Haynes manual G to S reg (3016).

Your manual maybe for a 200, does it show the engine having 2 'V'' belts for alternator / power steering pump / water pump / fan etc or just a singe ribbed belt (300)?

No, it covers 200 and 300 tdi's.

300 pump (with added EGR gubbins)

200 pump

Thanks for that. Haynes are showing a photo of a 200 pump and telling me it's a 300!
