Shockingly easy, just have to overlap your sprays and move at a very steady pace. Came out brilliantly now dry, ill get some pics up tonight/tomorrow!

Td5inside map is pretty awesome aswell :D:cool:

So after a weekend of sanding, cleaning, preping and spraying my first Raptor coated bits are done! Came out rather well I think :)

Havnt refitted the steering guard yet, as I think I'll give that a third coat considering it will spend most in harms way.

Overall I think Raptor is a very good product, it's very easy to apply and very easy to get your desired texture.

I used two bottles for the following -

x1 Coat back of steering guard
x2 Front steering guard
x2 On each headlight surround
x2 Front grill
x2 On all chequer plate
x2 Con snow cowl
x1 Normal coat on NAS step plate
x1 'Grip' coat on NAS step plate - Black dry silica sand added, VERY grippy!
x2 On NAS step chassis support brackets - Mainly done for future proofing/corrosion resistance
Plus various test panels

I may coat the underside of the seatbox as well for waterproofing and soundproofing though undecided.

Still got 2/3 of a can of #4Grip coating left and about 1/4 can of #8Acid Etch left, so pretty decent value imo. Only thing that is a bit of a pain is the flashing off/recoat time is 1 hour, also after an hour once mixed the Raptor starts to harden in the bottle. So what ever you plan on spraying you ideally need one bottle per coat to minimise waste.

Got a fair bit more to Raptor over the coming months -

Front bumper - As yet undecided but leaning toward the AFN Bullbar winch
Rock Sliders
Wing Chequer Plate
NAS Rear Step
NJI Aluminium pick up boot lid
Snorkel's
Loadspace - Currently all chequer plate and looks a bit tatty, even though once the boot lid is on I wont see it...
Loadspace pull out drawer system - Less of a drawer, more of a tray on some heavy duty runners for ease of load/access
Contemplating doing the whole rollcage as well
Maybe the light guards just to reinforce them a bit

Should keep all the protective off road bits safe and looking smart!

Now for some fun stuff!

Jose came and mapped the 110! According to him should be sitting on 190bhp & 430nm torque :D:D Currently running 22psi. It shifts but I can't help feeling it isnt quite as quick as my 90, or maybe I just can't remember driving the 90  that said there is NO lag what so ever, foot down and your on full boost in milliseconds

Either way I've got to whittle out the airbox so it can get a more air a bit quicker...

Plus good news is, hes mapped christ knows how many TD5s and only had one reported gearbox/TX break and that was during a race... So should last as long as I treat it right :D

Next time he's in the UK I may have him set up 'Dual Maps' one normal sensible map and one balls out one, or 'sport' map haha :p:D

Also went for the slightly, yet awesome popcorn limiter :D:cool: though due to the Allisport bullet box it's not as noticable as it could be, soooo I may change for a complete straight thru! :D I'll get some videos up when I can with the new GoPro!

I cant wait for the videos, I saw his post on fb about yours, you house looks really nice as well! Its definitely a good idea layering up the raptor on the steering guard as ive had my sill checker plate raptor chipping off.

haha parents place, where the nice garage is lol.

Ahh thats a shame! Shouldnt bloody chip off! Did you do all the prep work and leave it for the recommended 7 day drying time? Definitely a 3rd coat going on then!!

Ah that's fair enough.
Yeah I did all prep work and left it for 7 days, it only just happened, so its lasted a few months, tbh it looks like someone has hit their door on it.

Well the MAF and injector harness have both died. New genuine items en route! Got a few fault codes which up come up, while I attempt to sort them out I bought some more bits!

Dixon Fabrications HD Tubular Rock Sliders
3mm Wing Top Chequer Plate
New auto leccy aerial, not sure if it will fit but £10 worth a punt!

Both to be Raptor'd as soon as they arrive. Should be able to get a full coat on then a second coat of Raptor + sand for extra grip.

Also bought a proper straight through midbox, as I miss the angry bark! Shall keep the Allisport box however.

EGR exhaust manifold leak had gotten worse, so I attemped to remove the blank. No such luck... allen head stripped.

Then came the dreaded removal of the exhaust manifold...:confused::confused:

It came off!! Not one sheered or broken stud! :D:D Im amazed and relieved!! :D:D:D

Pics tomorrow!

Was having a gander today, my AC Condensor is missing many fins, is it worth replacing with new?

Not actually used the AC properly yet with it being winter n all  i know the fender AC is meant to be pretty sh!te but is like it to be as good as it can be haha

Much work done over the weekend! Been planning to pull the inlet manifold off for a while to give it a good clean now all the other performance mods are in place. Surprisingly easy, from what I read most people find it a ballache to remove due to the location of the bolts but I got to all of em pretty easily. Was off in less than 30 mins!

and inlet off, no leaks or otherwise. Cleaned up the whole area as well -

In for a soak in my tiny box  in some Mr Muscle oven cleaner for 30 mins, then jet washed and repeat. Finished off any stubborn areas with some brake cleaner. Went back in almost spotless!

Sadly I forgot to get a pic of the 97k worth of gunk that had built up in there! The inlet ports where pretty caked in gunk and there was a fair bit in the main area too. Now all clean :) I did forget to buy a new EGR blank - Inlet gasket... So I had to make one from some boxes I had hanging around, new proper one en route.

Injector Harness replaced using a Leoni OEM variant -

Someone has clearly used a sh!te gasket and some RTV, took me 30 mins to clean it all off!
20170217_101118_zpsv3ocpsfb.jpg

Replaced with a genuine LR gasket (was actually cheaper than the Elring ones I susually use! o_O) new VDO MAF sensor was also installed.

I did notice that the small EGR blank leak has gotten worse  somehow the lower bolt has worked its way loose, yet no amount of turning with allen keys, mole grips or Irwins would bud it! So it was a dreaded manifold off job!

20170217_150031_zpscbyncpmp.jpg

Which came off with out a single stud sheering!!:D:D VERY Happy about that indeed!

Also managed to remove and refit without disturbing the A/C, just undid the bolts, dropped the fan belt and nudged it forward a touch. Just enough space to remove the manifold.
20170217_163335_zps4kn7aoxb.jpg

One stud came out with the nut and that was replaced with a Wurth extended stud ready for a spacer but I dont have any :(

Refitted a dewebbed and machined OEM manifold, EGR blank sealed in place with sealant this time! Should help slow down any warping, at least for a while... then an Allisport :D
20170217_165906_zps1z36fnhb.jpg

Copper flashed nuts where used, so when it does eventually warp it should be pretty easy to remove! Annoyingly I tore the turbo oil drain gasket again so there's a small leak, ordered 5 new gaskets this time so i've always got one! Heres hoping I havnt got to remove the turbo again any time soon!

Shiny  Forge Motorsport Actuator

Drop in replacement. Not as easy to adjust on the fly as you have to disconnect the arm each time but it is much better quality than LR's.

Fitted -
20170217_114049_zps0ihggxrs.jpg

Throttle response is smoother, boost comes on slightly quicker and holds more stable at max boost. Plus it shinnnyyy :D

Road test after all that was done and I *think* my Nanocom may be misreading the boost :eek::eek: and road speed!
20170218_162523_zpsb2zsr8lt.jpg

Likely down to the boostbox confusing things which is being replaced with an uprated MAP sensor and suitable adjustments. According to my STACK boost gauge its actually a solid 22psi (tapped in just before the inlet manifold)

And of course a go faster sticker! Everyone knows it adds at least 10bhp...
20170216_192122_zpsbw9q2jb2.jpg

The electric aerial did arrive and while it will fit, I can't fit it without either removing the wing or the entire brake servo soooo its staying off for the time being. However it may well fit on the otherside once i've adjusted my heater intake.

Also did the TD5 airbox mod by removing the fan/impeller in the airbox, much less restrictive now!

Finally the 90 has been sold! Gone to its new home in Maidstone, both sad and glad to see it go

Since the 90s sold I've treated the 110 to a NJI locking top cover, not cheap at £792 delivered but theres nothing else similar on the market. Bought 4 more bottles of Raptor to coat it as well, not a fan of the bar chequer plate.

Shall do it with a more fine texture, then possibly add sand for the 3rd coat.

Also think I've decided on the AFN Bullbar Winch Bumper, what do you think? Looks sleeker and sharper than the ARB version, though not the biggest fan of those indicator holes.
