Hi
I have a 2001 freelander. The boot box, i put some stuff in and locked ages ago. I went to go in the other day and its locked solid, the key wont turn.
I didnt want to snap the key. I tried WD40, kneeling on it etc. But still solid. I know its the twisting arms underneath.
Any suggestions how i get in. Im not too bothered about damaging the lock, i just want to open it as thats where my jack and tyre nut is. I dont want a machanic to snap my key.
Suggestion? Sensible of course... :)

Do you think it is frozen ?
or another Disney movie ;)

Could the stuff in it be stopping the locking arms moving? Drive forward/reverse then stop quick to move it perhaps

Use a reasonable size heavy screw driver and a hammer to hit the head. Hopefully the blade will bust the key lock and allow you to turn with the screw driver handle. Or prise open with a heavy screw driver. Mine was already knackered from the plastic rivet area on the metal arm.
