Nothing nuts about it, soon as that lorry stops it's a blocked road, ****ing hgv's should not be on the road in conditions like that, took me five hours to get home from Norwich to essex one night, because at the bottom of every incline sat an hgv with no grip, gritters were stuck in tailbacks too. Sorry, rant over!!!

Oh dear, you poor thing!
You must have been so unbelievably distraught when you posted this....I bet you'd be one of the first to moan if the supermarket shelves were empty too. :po_O

@freelance I'm a hgv driver and we are expected to go out in all weathers regardless of weather warnings and would be disciplined if we refused. Our trucks are out 24/7 and the only day we're closed is Christmas day. We are even expected to go out when the office staff can't get in due to the snow. Everything you have, wear and eat has been on the back of several wagons before it makes it to your table.... I'm currently sat in sainsbury's at Haydock delivering 25 pallets of carling. At least you got home.

Couldn't agree more with this, been there myself and it never ceases to amaze me how some of us professional drivers manage to keep 44 tons moving when the cars are skidding off all over the place. It's often a prat in a car that causes the traffic to stop so then the trucks find it difficult to get going again.
(P.S. I don't envy you being at JS Haydock, not been there for three years and still don't miss the place.)

+1 funny how people complain all snug as a bug at home sleeping, as some driver has been on the road hauling fuel, food, clothes so they can go to work or feed there kids

I drive the truck that delivers black stuff at night, the stuff we all drive on, the abuse is unreal just because it down to one lane for a few mile, not to worry, ill just keep dodgin the cans, bottles and other 50mph missiles

I've got nothing against you and your colleagues, somebody has to fix the roads, and in almost all cases you're doing a great job. :)
It's that other army that gets left behind that gets to most people, you know the ones, they're about 3 feet tall, made of a plastic material, red at the top and bottom with a hi-viz jacket about half way up. They've even been seen wearing a flashing yellow light on top.
Yeah, you've got it. Those bloody cones! Especially when they all along the road for miles and when you get to the end of them guess what? Yep, Everybody's gone home! :D

Here in France when there is a sever weather warning HGV are ban from being on the road. I have seen on many occasions where the police here stack them up on the side of the road or in Aires till the bad weather passes.

Those f*****g 'Traffic Officer' wobbles are the ones that REALLY get my goat....let's put the motorway down to one lane because there's a puncture on the hard shoulder....

Cannot abide them....those and Old Bill on bikes. They are utter b******s, they really are. And I'm a biker who rides all year round....

That is unbelievable! I know the world has a lot of ignorant people in it, but those people should be kept in cages.

To be fair that's down to the tyre fitter not the traffic officers, we use ats and they even have diagrams in their vans showing them where they have to place the cones and can be disciplined for not doing so. Would you want to change a wheel stood a few inches from the inside lane cos I know that there's no way I would regardless of how much I'm being paid

I did see two young women stop in the outside lane of the m6 a couple of weeks ago cos they'd got a puncture  although it was quite amusing watching the one try and use her phone in the middle of six lanes of traffic, I bet they were pleased to see a traffic officer...

have u ever had the pleasure of being pulled over by city of london police

they are a different breed , convinced there sense of humour has been removed

saying that , found kent police to be one of the most respectful forces i've come across

not keen on the highway agency traffic officers , unfortunately they think they have the same power as the police

Never empty bottles though is it. Somehow they are always bottles fIlled with "apple juice" to flat "tizer" depending on how hydrated the driver is. Bastids. Do no a tm guy that got a magnum sized champagne bottle in the back of his head.
