Yeah I'm joining in new year and she will have her mot by then.
Great, then there'll be another Freelander in the club. I spoke to the club secretary who said she used a Freelander for years and had loads of fun in it. She said it did better than a lot of Trattors. :p

Yes!!! My she passed mot today.

All in with several spare parts off my old one that was going to scrap and mot test it cost me a grand total of a bit of my spare time, £80 on parts I had to buy including servicing bits plus mot fees. Plus the new back door at £40 as the old one was smashed by previous owner.

As this car was scrap yard bound with 211000 miles on it I feel happy to know it's on the road again. Now to start improving a few bits and hope it can do another 200k miles.

Not bad for a car that cost £150 to buy.

Next up, egr bypass and intercooler pipes along with reconditioning the vcu.

Good news mate, well done.
BTW make sure you pull everything out of the doner that you think you might need, then take the rest as well. It doesn't matter it you've only a shell left as the scrappy guys will just lift it onto the back of a lorry anyway.

Great result - just saved my Hippo from the scrappy too. Mine cost me £275 with 82k miles on the clock. Needed a complete top end rebuild of the K-series engine though! LOL But happy to save another car :)

Another one gone today also. Scrapped said beyond worthwhile saving but it gave many parts to my van and the car was originally free so can't complain.

Clutch, slave, shock x 2, 4 tyres and more would have been needed for it.

Did you get anything for it? What about the engine, was it worth saving? Did you take all the window regulators and motors out of it?
I guess unless your happy to have a load of junk lying around you can't really take everything. Shame though :(

I got mine off Ebay, £20 delivered and included the caps and key. Not cheap but good condition.
I missed a complete new set of 20 nuts a 5 locker nuts with key, caps and the plastic removal tube for £35. I actually only need 4 lockers and 5 nuts, to replace a few that are rusty. I'm just being fussy I guess.
