hello I'm very new to off roading / green laning, I had a defender 90 that I put my heart and sole in to! Not to mention all my money lol it sadly got stolen from outside my house!! And never has been seen or heard of agen the jeep itself would have been an off roaders dream but I had that much time and effort and just loved it that much didn't really do much! I went off the landys for a while and me and my mate have started a new protect on a td5 discovery but won't be ready for a while so for now we are just running an old Suzuki vitara that dose what we need it to do for now!! WE LIVE IN THE NORTH EAST .. DURHAM AND JUST LOOKING FOR SOME EASY GREEN LANES TO START OUT ON AND REALLY HOW TO GO ABOUT GOING ON THEM ? As we have never done it before and don't know much about it so any advice would be great thank you

Welcome and sorry to hear about your 90 though it was never a J**p

Have a look in the Green Laning section for pointers and keep an eye out for people in your area that might let you tag along

Welcome,

As you have been chastised already I will let the J**P comment go.................

May also be worthwhile looking to join GLASS.

What are you doing with the D2 project wise?

Cheers

Thanks mate I'll look into Glass and the disco there's a few bits ova welding to do don't get me wrong not much but a few little bits there's a lift kit to go on, I've got my tyres and that will get me going for now really it's still gunna be a while just for the bits to get me going , as ive just had a baby plus the time of the year and money But in the long run and if I enjoy the disco as much as my last 90 it will be looking unreal next year!!! But in the mean time I don't mind running the little vitara they I'm using it's pretty good on and off road tbh p.s. a mate of mine is looking for an old disco it doesn't matter if it's got no mot or anything as long as the engine is good and its sensible money

Welcome to LZ. Sounds like you're still broken hearted about your 90. I would be too.

I posted a few weeks ago asking about green lanes in the North East. But got absolutely hee-haw of a response. So either nobody could be arsed replying or there are no green lanes around. I was thinking there must be some stuff around Northumberland but maybe not. Durhams a bit far from Us in Edinburgh but would be happy to meet in the middle for a play but need to know where to go first.
By the way there is a north east green lanes Facebook group which I asked to join a couple of times but never got any response from that either. Maybe they're all stuck in the mud somewhere.

You could try looking in the green lane section on the forum! :)

Yep tried that. Also there's very little activity in the north east part of the regional section of LZ as well.

Did you post in the laning section? And are you in GLASS? Your regional GLASS rep will help.

There isnt really any activity in the Cornish section either, but we all know each other. We talk behind the scenes! ;):)

I have all the maps for Northern England your welcome to borrow them. It's worth checking the county council definitive map online first to check there's no TRO's etc .
