Why me?...I am at least trying to do the right thing

I despair, I really do despair

So, top hose burst heading up the M3. Not fun but just a case of waiting to get it stretchered home, replace the hose and carry on, yes?.........Ha, so that stupid stupid micro pipe above the main pipe on the rad gets knocked and snaps. No problem I just put on a new fitting...Yeah so it is a part of the rad and not a separate fitting so I would need a new Rad!!!!!
Like hell, I am an engineer (well that's how I started anyway) I can sort this...there is enough to get a slimline jubilee clip in, sorted...Battery is flat, no time left to get that sorted and head back up so steal the wife's car again....
Last weekend I get battery charged, check fluids, full check round what I can trust myself to do....
Back home this Friday and as I backed into the space it stalled.....starter spinning but no voom...try the sequence to re-prime fuel but halfway through the batterry runs out of oomph again. Battery out Saturday morning and put on charge then try again Sunday morning....lots of whirring, no voom, battery goes flat.

Once, just once I would like to be able to do some work on it and not have something else break.

So, what is the betting this time, Alternator, Fuel Pump, Battery, all of the above?

I share your pain with one thing after another, I really do....hopefully I'm at the end of the list of stuff that needs doing with mine.

Tempting but I can't believe that even the smallest of tasks I do seems to some other bigger issue. Did an essay on here a while back but it has been ridiculous. Spring clips for gear lever bias had gone and I managed to fix that only for the fuel pump to fail two days later. Had a problem with steering noise which was power steering fluid leak (pinhole and just needed topping up) and then had the hose burst...

I've spent just over a year putting mine right, spent an absolute fortune....I'm hoping I'm now very close to having got everything sorted....fingers and everything else VERY firmly crossed. Still stuff to do but hope to have it all done soon.

For that starting issue, if the battery went dead flat once it might not recover well no matter how much you charge it and if it's weak it will spin the starter but there will not be enough juice left for the ECU to open the injectors so check voltage on the battery while cranking and if it drops below 10V there can be two things, too weak battery or starter problem(this can create excessive drain and disturb the crank signal).... the charging system is not ruled out by this just that it won't affect starting with a powerfull battery
