Can't rate the LR Center in Liverpool highly enough. The fault lies with the ABS shuttle valve they have reset the faults and told me to drive the car over the weekend, if they don't come back on it's happy days if they do the valve will need replacing. They also diagnosed a small leak from the rocker box gasket so there going to sort that out to. Not happy having to pay money on a car I haven't owed for a week. But it could of been a lot worse. :)

If all they did was clear and reset the codes, then there's a strong possibility that the 3 amigos will reappear.
If you search on the forum here and on that well used search engine for SVS mod then you should get a good idea of what might be going on.
Very often the fault isn't actually on the switch plate, but with the two pin plug and socket arrangement inside the ABS modulator unit. LR will no doubt try to persuade you that a repair will require replacing the ABS modulator ..... OUCH! The modification is actually to bypass the connectors and in many cases, all that is required.
Some indie garages will do the mod, but I don't know if LR would even acknowledge the existance of it let alone apply it for you. There's plenty of information about it and if you can't find everything, just ask.

Thanks mate, they've told me to drive it and if they come back on to get the ABS shuttle valve done. As yet they haven't come back on.

ABS shutter valve done yesterday. On my way home from work going over two speed bumps the traction control light came on and I could here a grinding sound, it sounded like it was coming from the left side front wheel. Happened twice on the way to work on speed bumps again. On my way home the 3 Amigo's came on as soon as I started the car and are on constantly now. Any more ideas guys. I'm beginning to think I've been ripped off!

As has already been said, the only sure way of finding out what's going on is to read the codes.
You've been told to take it back if the lights should reappear, so maybe you should do just that.
The two usual problems which can cause the 3 amigos are either the shuttle valve switches or one or more faulty hubs.
There are one or two other reasons but they are really odd, but there's no reason why the SVS plate and one or more hubs shouldn't play up at the same time.

I'll have to take it back to the garage. The lights were intermitant at first. Since having the shutter valve done there now on constantly. Gather it must be a hub problem. Guess that means more £'s. Not enjoying owning a Disco at the moment lol

When you had the shuttle valve switches done, did they just replace the switch plate or did they carry out the unofficial modification which bypasses a troublesome two pin connector inside the ABS modulator?
The only way to find out is read the codes.
I don't know how much you're paying to get the codes read, but there must come a point where owning your own compatible code reader starts to look viable.

I got it done in the LR Centre so just went with what they said. I'm presuming they just changed the plate. I'll ask on Monday when I go back. I didn't think i'd need a code reader so quick having not owned it two weeks. How much are they and where can I get one from? Thanks for your help on this mate.

For the Disco 2, you'll need either a Nanocom, Hawkeye, Lynx for DIY work. They're all in a similar range pricewise, a couple to a few hundred quid new, unfortunately. Do a Google search before you choose.
You might be able to pick one up on Ebay, but they don't come up on there often. When buying new, one unlock code is included in the price, when buying second hand, you might have to purchase an unlock code for your vehicle type.
You will see some OBDII code readers, particularly on ebay which claim to be able to read LR codes, but more often than not they're either able to read the codes on Disco3 and later or just some of the codes from the engine ECU only.
When I bought my Disco 2, I'd already done a bit of research about the vehicle and factored in the cost of a Nanocom into the price.

If the codes for the new case of the 3 amigos is still the "SVS electrical", and the modification wasn't installed then it's a fair bet that fitting it will clear your trouble.
In fact, where no diagnostics are available, I have recommended installation of the mod as a matter of course to rule out that problem before proceeding further.
Looking at the LIR map, the closest member to you with diagnostics is over in Altringham, but he hasn't been on the forum since May this year.

It's back from LR after two days with no faults found. Got to take it back on Tuesday for there auto electrician to look at. Seems it's an electrical fault. The garage have been great though and seem to think the auto spark will definitely get to the bottom of it.

I've had some problems with my D2 facelift.... 3 Amigos on at least two separate occasions. I read some good advice on this forum & bought a Hawkeye reader, it was basically brand new in box only used once, cost me £190 but to be honest it's worth every penny :)

It correctly diagnosed my problem as ABS sensor(s) and both times I checked the hubs and they felt fine, smooth with no play, and both times I just replaced the ABS sensors and they have worked perfectly.

My problems started intermittantly, the 3 Amigo's would come on, but could be reset, they would then stay off for a few days and then re-appear, after a few weeks they wouldn't reset at all, or at least they would but the fault would come back immediately as soon as the car moved.

I know people say "just change the hub" but the sensors only cost £12 and are easy to change. You have to cut the plug off and re-join it to get it to thread through the hole at the hub end, but I've done about 3000 miles since changing them and I've had no problems :)

Nice one. I'm just wondering why LR is saying they can't find the fault with there diagnostics. They reckon its definitely an electrical fault.

Still no joy. What sounded like an easy fix has turned into a nightmare. Apparently it's the ABS modulator that's at fault. Got a replacement on order which should be here tomorrow so fingers crossed AGAIN!

It might help others if you could say exactly the wording for the fault code which was thrown up rather than "Apparently it's the ABS modulator that's at fault".

They didn't give me the wording for the fault code, they just said as the ABS Shuttle Valve had been replaced in there opinion it has got to be the ABS Modulator and no other faults were found on the system.

Classic!
I don't know how much they're going to rush you for a new ABS modulator, but it won't be pocket money!
This is a classic fault which shows up on the ABS modulator and will also one of the reasons to bring up the 3 amigos. On a Nanocom it shows up as "SVS electrical". And you can fix it yourself for about 40 quid and a couple of hours.
The usual cause of this fault is a dry joint or two on the two pin plug inside the ABS modulator, where it connects to the Shuttle Valve Switch plate. That's Shuttle valve, not Shutter valve.
If you do a search on the forum here or on Google for "Disco 2 SVS mod" or just "SVS mod", there's a wealth of information about what it is, what it does and how to do the mod.
The modification just bypasses the suspect plug and socket by introducing a bit of external wiring.

Thanks Brian. I'll take a look.

That grinding sound will be the ABS kicking in, it's a weird sound! I think all Discos like to prove a challenge, my D2 burst a rear brake line after 9 hours of ownership! I have found preventive maintenance key with the disco. If you ever see my disco, just look under it and you will find me there
