just wished to follow such great advice , would rather spend the money on something decent

plus if i ever want another model it's only £60 quid, the hawkeye upgrade is £200

hopefully there will be some interest with my hawkeye

There's nothing that the IID BT can't do Gary. Key programming is child's play for it.
It'll read and clear all codes on every computer. Your D3 will have 11 ECUs to display, diagnose and update.
The IID can do stuff that LR can't do. Things like adding 2007 software to the BCU and Ipack. This will give you various hidden improvements as well as visible improvements, like displaying the time on the dash LCD and 3 flash lane change indicators. You can also activate cruise control, should you add the steering wheel switches for it. You can also set the vehicle to ride at any hight you fancy, as well as alter timing for headlights delay and interior light delay. The IID is easily the best diagnostic tool for the D3 and all in a package that fits in the glove box. The Hawkeye is just a toy by comparison ;)

thks mate

have decided to get the bt iid as with it being so capable , it will pay for itself when i buy another keyfob

as i do things to the disco in the future i won't then be reliant on any dealer and as u say able to sort it out myself

cheapest place i've seen the bt iid is island at £400

i always like cars that lock the doors automatically , good security , as u never know if ur sitting at light or in traffic of someone opening the boot, passenger side etc

use the lock function at the moment

due to inexperience would never alter any engine, gearbox settings, wouldn't change something i don't understand

can also help anyone else with a d3 on the forum

did find the i button on the end of the wiper indicator stalk

showing average mpg at 18 , don't know how long that is taken over

still done around 160 miles and put 20 quid in and it's got 40 miles range left, so very pleased with that

Just make sure you also purchase a suitable battery charger thingy. Try programming with less than full volts and you could end up with a very expensive paperweight

thks, but doesn't the unit get its power from the obd2 socket

The problem is flashing the ecu' scan take an extended amount of time, any drop in power can cause the ecu to be corrupt. A ctek with a supply mode in excess of 10amps is required/recommended. Changing options is ok, it's the flashing of ecu's that gets risky and the d3 could be the paperweight not the iid tool

oh i see, if the car battery drops halfway through reprogramming

will have to look as i'm not sure there is a charger unit for it

as i will also make sure the ipad is fully charged and also have it plugged into the cig lighter

It's the disco battery that drops.... Below 12v causing the issue... Not making my self clear sorry

no worries and many thks, see what u mean

i did have a vargo battery on my hippo and was fantastic, will see how this battery goes as we are coming up to the winter season

will ensure it's ok , if not wil replace it

have got a battery jump unit , would it hurt if whilst the car is off, put the battery pack onto the battery to ensure it will remain above 12 volts , if i do any flash of the ecu , or would it damage anything please

does it take long, i.e. 5 x mins etc

many thks
